Post-consumer recycled paper is paper that is made from paper scrap that has left the paper mill and has been used and then recovered and turned into paper again. This paper is gray brown in colour with micro pieces of colour from the paper scrap it is made from. A few micro pieces of paper get through filtering  the recycled paper slurry that is sprayed onto a fine wire belt that catches the paper fiber that is dried and turned into paper again. This paper is softer than virgin paper as the fiber is shorter and softer which is why real recycled paper bags are thicker than virgin paper bags. Be ware of numerous false or trick wording claims on paper bags falsely claiming to be recycled. Often made in China from world heritage forest wood chip.  Kraft paper shopping bags are usually not recycled and most are made in China. Kraft paper is not real 100% post-consumer recycled despite false or trick wording recycled claims.
